Take 1: Regardless of how hard Simu Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, and Tony Leung work to update action movie stereotypes, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a blockbuster that’s 2/3 human problems plus 1/3 CGI mess.
Take 2: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is better a second time, although Michelle Yeoh and Awkwafina do steal scenes from Simu Liu, who knows his way through a gym.
