The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece (2023) by Tom Hanks: it begins with a really strong insider’s glimpse of how personal history spreads across 80 years of American life, as expressed through Hollywood during the rise of superhero IP-based movies in the time of COVID. But then the novel becomes a punch list of events in the production process. Rich characterization in sections devoted to the past with a mixed final result. Still, T.
