Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood (2024) by Ed Zwick: an under-written memoir about his defining career in TV that turned him, a workaholic, into a sometimes celebrated moviemaker, good friend, solid collaborator, and occasional name-dropper. Filled with enjoyable quips about working on sets, and organized around the idea of partnerships as the key to lasting careers, marriages, and art making. I simply wish he’d written more about all his creative endeavors and that he’d been meaner with behind-the-scenes gossip.
